It's capital only with the word English? If I say portuguese, should it have capital P too?
If not: I really hate this capital E.

English has its own freaks. All proper names, nationalities, months of the year, days of the week, the pronoun "I" and so on,... take capital letters. So,

ortuguese is not an exception.
