Hi kfeto

Is "Düzce" a town?

"Life continues pretty much the way it does, the usual you know"
I think that would read:
"Life continues pretty much as usual, you know"

What do you say?

yes its a town. the -den puts it in the ablative case

i corrected the sentence, it expresses the same in less words so better:-)

If it's a town so you should change "from" to "in", right?

well when i read it that came to mind to but in turkish he would have used the locative -de('in' or 'at') instead he used the ablative -den so i translated as is because i think it was deliberate on the part of the writer.
an internet cafe comes to mind so the place where it is run is different than the place where the writer would be typing this(on-line) prompting him to use ablative/'from'

nbr= 'what news?' is like the english 'how do you do' one doesn't actually expect an answer it's a greeting which can be translated as hello
