I am not absolutely sure about this and I think also your point of view is good but for the sentece: "trocando seu mundo de sonhos pela realidade" I would prefer : "exchanging her world of dreams for the reality". I am not Portuguese, but I am from Galicia (Spain) and our language (Galego) is very similar to portuguese.
