This is a quote by Blaise Pascal. Some other ways to translate / understand it are as follows:

I agree with you. We should always try to stick to the best known version of a quote in a given language. In this case, however, since the translation request was "meaning only", I decided to provide the rather literal translation of the sentence in Romanian, and then added some other options. In the end, I failed to include the best known version of the quote.
Anyway, I subscribe to your point of view.
