It's not necessary to translate the articles before the nouns into Chinese.
In another word, "思想乃創作之根基" will suffice.
I was wondering how the English word "idea" can be better translated into Chinese.
You see, "思想" is one of the definitions of "idea", but it's more like a conception. I'm wondering if it does not mean something that strikes you in this context. In that case, maybe a better translation would be: "意念乃創作之根源".
"根基" is more like "a foundation" while "根源" more like "a starting point".
