1.1 RANDOM VARIABLE
A random variable associates a numerical value with each outcome of an exper-
iment. A random variable is deÂ…ned mathematically as a real-valued function
deÂ…ned on a sample space, and is represented as a letter such as X or Y.
EXAMPLE: For the experiment of Â‡ipping a coin twice, the random variable X
is deÂ…ned to be the number of tails to appear

	kafetzou Žinučių kiekis: 7963	"deemed" (= considered), and "tails" means the back of the coin (not the face).

	kafetzou Žinučių kiekis: 7963	Aha - I didn't know if that was the right word in Greek. The face is the other side (sometimes called "heads" ).

	IanMegill2 Žinučių kiekis: 1671	Hmm... I would have guessed that, in this type of "scientific" paper, "de..ned" would be "defined"...? (We could say "defined as," but not "deemed as," and it's "de...ned," not "de...med"?)
