What about "backwards" instead of "on the contrary"?

Actually, I've thought of "upside down" and "backwards", but the original is not clear regarding the direction the article should be turned (maybe even the wrong side, if it is possible). So, I opted for "on the contrary", trying to find the most "generic" way.

"on the contrary" means "ao contrário, pelo contrário"
I don't think any of the expressions using "contrary" will fit here.

What about: "in a different position/angle"?

I think "turned the opposite side" may work - whatever side it could be.

Perhaps "display" instead of "put" would sound better.
