just a tiny correction:
would like ---> want | | | 6 Január 2009 00:19 | | jollyoHozzászólások száma: 330 | Hey Lilian,
I'm not sure I agree.
'you want' is 'du willst' in German.
The phrase is definately different.
Some other suggestion?
| | | 6 Január 2009 01:36 | | | Jollyo,
sometimes we can't translate a sentence "textually" because it would sound weird in the target language.
I think in this case using "want" in simple present is what sounds better.
Therefore, no, I don't have any other suggestion. | | | 6 Január 2009 02:28 | | | I would have to agree with lilian. Although "möchtest" means "you would like," in English, it sounds much better to say "if you want to ask me something" rather than "if you would like to ask me something." | | | 8 Január 2009 13:36 | | | | | | 8 Január 2009 16:51 | | jollyoHozzászólások száma: 330 | Hey ladies,
Sorry, I wasn't there for a while. And back again.
I'll edit the text according your suggestion.
| | | 8 Január 2009 18:06 | | | "ein bisschen" actually means "a bit", so you could also say "Please tell me a bit about you!" (instead of "something" ). However, I do not care if it remains the way it is either, because it means the same. | | | 8 Január 2009 20:01 | | | |
