Falls du mich irgendetwas fragen möchtest, zögere nicht es zu tun. Und du? Wer bist du und was machst du? Erzähl mir doch mal ein bißchen über dich! | Vërejtje rreth përkthimit | Someone sent me this in an email, thinking I could understand this, but as I am only a beginner in German, I cannot. I would be very grateful if someone could translate this for me.
(Any English is alright, I can understand everything. However, American English is preferable.) |

Mesazhi i fundit | | | | | 5 Janar 2009 23:51 | | | Hi jollyo
just a tiny correction:
would like ---> want | | | 6 Janar 2009 00:19 | | | Hey Lilian,
I'm not sure I agree.
'you want' is 'du willst' in German.
The phrase is definately different.
Some other suggestion?
| | | 6 Janar 2009 01:36 | | | Jollyo,
sometimes we can't translate a sentence "textually" because it would sound weird in the target language.
I think in this case using "want" in simple present is what sounds better.
Therefore, no, I don't have any other suggestion. | | | 6 Janar 2009 02:28 | | | I would have to agree with lilian. Although "möchtest" means "you would like," in English, it sounds much better to say "if you want to ask me something" rather than "if you would like to ask me something." | | | 8 Janar 2009 13:36 | | | | | | 8 Janar 2009 16:51 | | | Hey ladies,
Sorry, I wasn't there for a while. And back again.
I'll edit the text according your suggestion.
| | | 8 Janar 2009 18:06 | | | "ein bisschen" actually means "a bit", so you could also say "Please tell me a bit about you!" (instead of "something" ). However, I do not care if it remains the way it is either, because it means the same. | | | 8 Janar 2009 20:01 | | | |
