'Superiority' sounds a bit strange here. Do you mean 'importance'? In that case, my suggestion would be:
Colors are not important. The things that are important in life are love, peace and fraternity.
Do you agree or does this change the meaning of the original text? |

| | Colors are not important...> There is no advantage of colors.
...in life...> in the world we live |

| | Hi all,
"importance" doesn't give the exact meaning of "üstünlük". How about "priority"? |
| | 23 Julio 2010 11:57 |
| LeinCantidad de envíos: 3389 | 'the most important'? 'what's most important'?
I'm not sure how to construct a natural-sounding sentence with 'priority' in this case (suggestions welcome!) CC: handyy |

| | Hi guys,
What about:
"Colors are not of utmost importance"?
Also, there's a typo in "in the world" |

| LeinCantidad de envíos: 3389 | oops! |
| | 24 Julio 2010 10:23 |
| | I just noticed, there's an extra "in".
I think it should be "in the world we live" not "in the world we live in" |
| | 24 Julio 2010 21:50 |
| | I agree with that "importance" sounds much softer than the one in the original.
Could we say "ascendent/ above" ? |

| handyyCantidad de envíos: 2118 | Here comes my offer - hope it's not too bad :
Colors have no precedence/priority. The things that are superior in the world we live are love, peace and fraternity. |

| | colors have no primacy.
the main things in the world where we live are love, peace and fraternity |

| LeinCantidad de envíos: 3389 | OK, thanks all! I have edited following handyy's suggestion. As for the 'extra' 'in', this is required I reckon. We are talking about things that are important in the world in which we live; 'which' can and is often left out, but 'in' has to stay. We don't live this world, we live in this world |
