Maybe is it meant : "[at one hand, there are] stars (star system/jet set/rich people) and [at the other hand] I'm starving."?

But I don't know how stars (with the meaning I said) should read in Portuguese.

Yes, it could be.
"Stars" should read "estrelas" in Portuguese and the phrase could be "tantas estrelas e eu a morrer à/de fome" (so many stars and me starving".
