CC: lilian canale goncin | | | 6 April 2009 16:09 | | | Well...actually it IS a complete imperative sentence. It's like "Inform the people!" | | | 6 April 2009 16:11 | | | Tell the people what? "inform the people" would be acceptable IMO.
I had a translation into French to evaluate and this is not a complete sentence, although it was literaly translated, as requester wanted... | | | 6 April 2009 16:12 | | | I know what you mean...but technically... | | | 6 April 2009 16:27 | | | OK, before spreading this one back onto the requested translations, and if you don't mind, we'll use three dots at the end of the original text (whatever is to be told the people)

To try to shed light, I meant the imperative form to be used as a slogan or a phrase. My mistake in not punctuating the sentence with a stop, or an exclamation mark. However, it is the form of the sentence that i am interested in. As you say, perhaps 'inform' may have been more appropriate. |
