here, "mi alma" means exactly "my soul" "my soul will go on..."
And I'm not sure that "te quiero" and "I want you" mean the same. "Te quiero" in Spanish is just another way to say "te amo" with no other meaning. | | |

However, translating both "te quiero" and "te amo" as "I love you" in the same sentence strikes me as graceless. | | |

I agree with both of you about "te quiero", but since the same person says "te deseo", I think it's OK to translate "te quiero" as "I want you" in this case. | | |
