Title
How to change?
Translation
English

Translated by p.s.
Target language: English

How do you change an antisocial guy? How do you make a domestic type of him? He doesn´t fit with me. It doesn´t combine. A man is born and can't be changed.

Hi Lein!
I saw you're the one who accepted this translation into English. could you help, as I've got the French version to evaluate, and I must say I'm a bit wondering about "A man is born and can't be changed". Even correctly translated into French, I really can't understand the relationship between "to be born" and "not changing", to me it doesn't make any sense. So maybe is it an idiomatic expression I wouldn't get, and I would like to have your opinion.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Francky

I have interpreted this as 'a man is born [the way he is] and [how he is] can't be changed'
Does that help?

Oh yes, it does, Lein, thanks a lot!

what's behind these words is kind of square minded point of view. In French it has to be reinforced by 'the way he is' to be understandable, or if it is not, it is a very loose sentence, especially "un homme est né"...

I wish you a good night!
