Sorry but 'Eu gosto o alimento' doesn't look good in Portuguese.
Would be better to say in a simple way: Eu amo/adoro comida.
| | | 21 April 2008 23:28 | | | Hi Angelus
Hehe, this is my first ever translation into Br Portuguese
I realised afterwards (because Lilly explained to me) that I should have put "do" rather than "o", at least it would have been readable.
Also I thought about translating "food" as "eating" but I wasn't sure that I was "allowed".
I like "eu adoro comida", so if you like, I'll edit it like that.
Obrigada pela lição
Beijos

"Eu adoro comida" | | | 23 April 2008 15:09 | | | Oi Angelus e Goncin
I have edited the text as per your suggestions but I just wanted to point out that there can be an immense difference between
I love food => eu adoro/amo do alimento
and
I love eating => eu adoro/amo comida
Imagine Archimboldo using the phrase "I love food, as the theme of my paintings"
Imagine Manuel Vázquez Montalbán using the phrase "I love food, it is always one of the central characters of my books"
Neither could, in any way, be translated as "Eu adoro comida..."
See what I mean
Bises
Tantine
