I think it's more along the line of 'how can remarks be erased?', as in asking for instructions to perform an action.

Or perhaps: "How remarks get erased"

I edited C.K's translation from "How remarks get erased" into the present version since the sentence was not correct.
It can be like I did:
"How are remarks erased? "
or
"How do/can remarks get areased?"

What would be more accurate?

The original says,
"How can remarks be erased?"
They're not asking how things 'get' erased, passively, but how to get something done.
