I've revised a translated version of the holy Quran and you're absolutely right. The word glorify is the one used when saying"سبØان الله"
I don't know why but for a second they seemed interchangable to me both "Praise be to Allah" and "Glorify Allah".
well Allah in Arabic is the name of God, the God muslem people worship, but the word Allah has been used long long before, so it was spread amongst all other religions and people, thus now, when somebody says Allah, he means God in english, unless he is specifying Allah Himself, he uses Allah in english as well, it's a name, names dont get translated
