"The skin I inhabit"
or else
"the body I inhabit"?
Thanx in advance. CC: ali84 | | | 9 October 2008 23:54 | | ali84Number of messages: 427 | "The skin I inhabit" | | | 29 October 2008 09:12 | | jaq84Number of messages: 568 | Hello Elmota
Can you help me a little with this one?
So, I've been thinking about it, and I thought that skin here probably symbolized or stood for 'body'.
But what if he meant something more like a skin color!!
What do u think? CC: elmota | | | 29 October 2008 10:19 | | | well think of it this way, what if it was a skin color? what would that mean? My Race? do you think we can translate that into arabic without breaking the meaning?:
لون بشرتي أو عرقي
now that would not be the exact translation, and body in arabic is probably the best embodiment of anything of the sort (skin, race, body...) all we can do is leave derivation of meaning to whomever reading it, besides, i have grown to accept Marcelle's italian skills | | | 29 October 2008 10:38 | | jaq84Number of messages: 568 | Thanx Elmota.
I really liked that translation from the begining.
But I needed your opinion.
