In the original text a "grocery" or "grocery store" is considered a "social value".

Still awkward Lilian. You can do much better. I expect that if you look it over you can put it into smoother English.

Awkward ?
David, the original is a plain, weak text I did my best to improve.
In it, grocery stores are thought as "social values".
A weird or imprecise text in meaning would certainly result from ideas like that.
I'm sorry to tell you, but there is no better way, in my opinion, to make this more accurate.
