| I've been lucky all my life... First of all, I was born poor. | | Hedef dil: İngilizce
I've been lucky all my life... First of all, I was born poor. Poor people transmit the richness. Wealthy people, the poverty. How can I respect a society which refused me some bread, child? Which has denied me the money to buy something to relieve the pains of my cancerous father? |

Son Gönderilen | | | | | 1 Nisan 2008 00:32 | | | Hi Diego,
"At first, I was born poor" should read:
For one thing, I was born poor.
or
To start with, I was born poor.
The expression should show that the person will probably enumerate several things, one after another. Do you get it?
"...a society which refuse d me the bread, when a child?
"Which has denied me the money to buy something to relieve the pain s of my cancerous father?
What do you think?
| | | 1 Nisan 2008 14:46 | | | Oi Lily,
Wouldn't be better if I wrote "FIRST OF ALL, I was born poor"?
...and "a society which refused me SOME bread, child"?
| | | 1 Nisan 2008 17:53 | | | "Which" should be changed by "what" | | | 1 Nisan 2008 19:52 | | | "Richness" should be changed with "wealth".
And unless Diego is metaphorically associating poverty with misery, I believe the sentence should read, "Wealthy people, misery." |
