According to the Danish one, I'd say: to send loneliness instead" but it's not mentioned in the French one, whixh I translated. Perhaps we should add" à la place" in the French one, to be sure they both conveys the same meaning?

"il serait préférable" already is including this notion of replacement of smthng by smthng else.
so IMO no need to add "à la place" in the French version.
