--- "arkadaşlıksaydı" is grammatically and semantically not an accurate sentence in Turkish. My offer -I hope you don't bother- :

"Aramızdaki şey/Yaşadığımız şey -sana göre- arkadaşlıksa..."

ok i changed the last part, I'm willing to change the first part too but wouldn't it be possible to put 'arkadaşlıksa' in the past tense?

The tense used over there is not simple past. It's a conditional clause, second type is used so it's unreal present. Wait a minute, am I wrong?
well, if it's in past, then you must put it as "arkadaşlık idiyse" -this may seem strange to you, but it is real.
