Remarks about the translation
Es posible también otra versión de la traducción (la primera línea): "no, (es) mío, tío". El significado depende de la posición de la coma.

I'm not sure but .. stary means "old".

So: No, mi viejo..

"Stary" literally means "old" but we also use it to say "guy, man, friend, fellow" in an informal conversation as this one.

Yes... I did know

What I meant was if in Spanish "tío" is the correct word to express it.

In Portuguese is like saying:

E aí, meu velho?

Well, I would insist on "tío" as it seems to be more commonly used "como apelativo para designar a un amigo o compañero". "Viejo" sounds more like talking about the parents.

It's really possible it's actually about the parents. It looks like an ironical retort, "nie, Twój/mój stary" is often used this way in Poland.

-Who, me?
-Nope, my old man.
