| XiniViestien lukumäärä: 1655 | The meaning is ok, but what was the problem with "my" neighborhood?
Just a lexicon problem, I suppose. Could anybody please explain? |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 11:57 |
| | My neighborhood?
What does it mean?
Jag=I
Behöver=need
Närhet=proximity |

| XiniViestien lukumäärä: 1655 | On my rejected translation, I used Neighborhood instead of Vicinity. |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 12:19 |
| | I think in this context 'neighbourhood' couldn't be applied.
I think it's a love phrase.
|

| | It´s difficult to tranlate "proximity" without knowing the context. |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 16:56 |
| | Sure it is.I'm gonna ask zuperzandra what it means. |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 21:12 |
| | "Proximity" is not a good choice here - it's too formal. Would "I need closeness" work? Can we get some information on the context? |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 21:17 |
| | I've already asked zuperzandra what's the context but I don't think she's gonna answer.
I'm gonna press 'the button'. |

| | Why do people vote it's wrong without posting a message?
It could make job easier. |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 22:49 |
| | Words of love? Maybe I need you close (to me) would be ok. Or I need you here with me. But without context, it is untranslatable. |

| | The girl logged in just one time.
Think she'll come back just when translation allready validated. |
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 23:06 |
| | I vote love phrase: I need you closer or something like that (the meaning, not the translation itself).
|
| | 24 Huhtikuu 2007 23:49 |
| | Some are voting 'wrong' before we know what it means.
How do they know the context?
Hope they explain. |

| | Mats Fondelius said so: it's an intimate expression. It's better change to the correct "closeness". (not with these words, but is the same) |
| | 25 Huhtikuu 2007 00:46 |
| | I think "I need you close to me" is too much of a stretch from the original. "I need closeness" is a fairly common phrase, usually spoken as a complaint by a woman, who is feeling that she's not getting what she needs in terms of intimacy (which is another possible translation, but open to misinterpretation) either in her relationship or in her state of being single. |

| | Have a look on figges inbox, Kafetzou. There you'll find the Swedish explanation.
He said: this is used by lovers... |
| | 25 Huhtikuu 2007 01:04 |
| | Yes - that's why I originally suggested "closeness". I think this translation is OK, and I'm going to validate it. |
