Hi Lein,

I think it would read better as:

"The aim of this experiment is to determine the viral load in the liver of humans at different times after infection."

What do you think?

I would keep the expression 'time points'. It is very commonly used in this context.

The liver of humans :

Then I'd suggest "at different points in time"

"time-point" is more commonly used in music, I guess...

No, really, a time course consists of different time points, not points in time. I have been measuring at different time points for ten years, five of which in the UK. So have my colleagues. It is a common expression in science, which is what this text is about.
An example (copy and paste from a scientific abstract from Edinburgh, found online):

"Concern that HIV infection may result in the premature development of end stage liver disease has led us to investigate hepatitis C viral loads in haemophiliacs at different time points before and after HIV infection."

Well, I must confess: medical texts are not my playground Then I trust you
To the poll!
