Hi merdogan,
Is that "for you" or "because of you"?

Hi lilian,
It is "for you".

Hi Merdogan,

I'm not a native Turkish speaker but it seems to me that the idea is that the person, whoever it is, learns the language of the other (senIN) because of the other person (here, for=in order to make the other one like him/her)

Hi iserb,
Turkish text dosen't say what you are thinking. Because text has "for =için".
ıt is not "Senin dilini öğreniyorum = I am learning your language" .

Merdogan,
What Iserb means (and I think alike) is that the person says he is learning a foreign language (hers) to communicate with her. She is the reason for him to learn the language.
Prepositions in English are not the same as in Turkish. In that case "I'm learning the language because of you" would make more sense in English.

Dear lilian,
I know what Iserb means.
You are our expert. You know better than us.
If you say to use "because of" would make more sense in English please change it.
Thanks...

But ...is that the correct meaning?
Or the source implies a different thing?

Dear Lilian,
The Turkish language is not a poor language. We also have "for" and " because of".
This text says me "for you".
and as I said you before , ıf you say to use "because of" would make more sense in English please change it.
Thanks...

We'd better ask for some help.
Kafetzou, please?

It is "for you", and as salvia rightly pointed out, it is "a language", not "the language" - otherwise it would be "dili" and not "dil".

I know, but I just don't have the time anymore - but I'm always available for consultations, as long as they stay rare!
