I think that 'alvorligt' is more serious than 'serious', but this is applicable too.
I was going to translate 'unemployed' but I was trying to be faithful to the danish text:
er-is/are
uden-without
arbejde-work.
Hmm. "are without work" is possible, but it just doesn't sound like English, and "don't have jobs" sounds like it's a temporary situation. I think "are unemployed" is the best solution still.
