The translation is correct in that point, or the writer meant to say something else Girlfriend in English usually has the sound of a relationship, which is not necessarily the case here...

	Lein Tal av boðum: 3389	It could be just any friend, but when someone says 'seine Freundin ist Chinesin' he usually means girlfriend. In a relationship. Otherwise he would have said something like 'he has a Chinese friend', or 'a friend of his is Chinese'.
