I've been lucky all my life... First of all, I was born poor. Poor people transmit the richness. Wealthy people, the poverty. How can I respect a society which refused me some bread, child?
Which has denied me the money to buy something to relieve the pains of my cancerous father?

Hi Diego,

"At first, I was born poor" should read:

For one thing, I was born poor.
or
To start with, I was born poor.

The expression should show that the person will probably enumerate several things, one after another. Do you get it?

"...a society which refused me the bread, when a child?

"Which has denied me the money to buy something to relieve the pains of my cancerous father?

What do you think?

Oi Lily,

Wouldn't be better if I wrote "FIRST OF ALL, I was born poor"?
...and "a society which refused me SOME bread, child"?

"Which" should be changed by "what"

"Richness" should be changed with "wealth".

And unless Diego is metaphorically associating poverty with misery, I believe the sentence should read, "Wealthy people, misery."
