What about "fuck around"? Vulgar, however widely heard.

You can use "f*** around"

That's a good suggestion. Handyy, is it that strong?

Actually, I think I found an OK compromise solution.

The only problem is that "screw around" could be misunderstood to mean "not work and just have fun".

I think that because of the context (marriage, honeymoon) one may imagine the sense in which it's being used, not concerning "work" but "commitment to faithfulness ".

I think it's quite clear.

I had translated "-e kadar" as "until", but buketnur corrected me.

Lilian, I guess you can accept this now, but don't give me a high rating.

Well, actually the sense changed completely now.
When using "until" we understand that the person may get married soon and intends to screw around before that happens.
Using "instead" we get the idea of a decision about changing his lifestyle.

It's really important being sure about that word.
Don't you think?

Buketnur is right, "-e kadar" can also mean "until", but it does so in other context.. here "-e kadar" means "-mek yerine" which meets "instead of". you can bu sure of it
he ( it is probably he ) wants a totaly "free" lifestyle.

for example, for such a sentence "Ben arayana kadar beni bekle", we can use "until" there and can say "Wait for me until I call you". (this is a matter of time)

but for "Öğretmen olana kadar doktor olurum" we have to use "instead of" or "rather than" or etc. (this is matter of preference)
