iletişim alanında, sistemde bir hata oluştuğunda,parametrelerin yeniden girilmesinden sonra, sistem yeniden aktif edildiğinde çalışmazsa 'kalkmadı' ifadesi kullanılır. sanırım bu da benzer bir durum.

"your number is up" means it's your time to die!!!!

but Phoenix is the name of a city in Arizona. This sounds like it comes from a movie. The speaker is implying that the other person was supposed to die in Phoenix, but s/he didn't. So the "kader" concept is correct, but Phoenix is the name of a place.

The meaning is right, but it sounds so much harsher than the original.

Isn't there some expression in Turkish for "your number is up"? What does Ecel say when he comes knocking on your door? What about what _sevgi_ was suggesting above?

Well, that's very literally what I suggested, and I think it's a little too long (and you forgot Phoenix ) - I was thinking of something using "kader" or "zaman".

"Ancak anlaşılan Phoenix'te ecel kapını çalmadı."

I think this is OK. "ecel" meets both "zaman" and "kader"--> ecel=time of death
