I'm not sure this is correct. "εκκεντÏικότητα" means eccentricity, not extravagance.

Hi Laura,
extravagance in FR and in EN don't mean the same:
1) extravagance in English, according to the O.E.D., as you know = prodigality or wastefulness in expenditure ;
2) extravagance in French, according to the Robert = a) état de celui qui est extravagant (syn. absurdité, bizarrerie) - b) idée, parole, action extravagante (syn. excentricité).
Since the source language is French, not English, extravagance = "εκκεντÏικότητα", in Greek.
Quod erat demonstrandum! :-)

Depending on the situation however, even in French, it can mean υπεÏβολή. Why not add it as a note/comment?
