My boy, not son.

I don't think one says such a thing to a son.

Hey Casper. It's written: min "dreng" which can mean both. And a mother can say that to her son, but unfortunately, I think you are right.

Couldn't that be a love statement to a newborn baby?

Hello Lilian. No, I don't think so. But I still think in this meaning it could be a son . Casper can be right, but "dreng" refers to somebody young .
Have a look at this:

And this one Lilian, where "dreng" is translated as "son".

The first part could be told to a son...but:

Soy tan feliz por ser mío y de nadie más
Eres mi amor, tesorito
nunca podré vivir sin ti.

It would be at least, strange.

You don't know what a mom is able to say to a son!
It's not strange a statement like that when one becomes a mother.

I forgot to say:

the notes under the main text say: it's to a guy

Closed case.

I would definately say it´s to a boy and not to a son. "min dreng" could mean both things, as you have been discussing here, but in this case, I am sure it must be "my boy" because, as Casper said, it would be a quite strange thing for a mother to say to her son plus, as Casper also mentioned said, the comment field says it´s "to a boy" and not "it´s to my son".

ah, sorry to interfere again, but "du mit liv skat" does not mean "you´re my love, sweetheart", but "you´re my life, sweetheart".

Yes, Agree Anita with" you are my life" .Don't know why I wrote "my love", suppose it's so often so often mentioned in the translations. Real sorry Lilian. Will be careful next time.
