| Good evening, and may rabbits chase you. | ÖversättningEngelska Översatt av kafetzou | Språket som det ska översättas till: Engelska
Good evening. | Anmärkningar avseende översättningen | The literal translation is, "Good evening, and may rabbits chase you," but this is a rhyme commonly used by students in Turkey. The meaning is only "Good evening," but the second half is added on just because it rhymes. By the way, the original uses much stronger language - this is the softened version. In the original version, the verb is not "chase". |

And I guess the Danish version should be edited. CC: Anita_Luciano | | | 13 December 2008 16:27 | | | sleep tight, don´t let the bedbugs bite ;-) | | | 13 December 2008 16:34 | | | Super! Thank you Lunatunes! | | | 13 December 2008 16:44 | | | you are very welcome :-) Anytime :-) Luna | | | 13 December 2008 18:04 | | | Oh yeah - good suggestion, lunatunes! | | | 13 December 2008 18:06 | | | Should we add it Kafetzou? or just leave it as it is? | | | 13 December 2008 18:14 | | | That would be great to rhyme with "Good night", but not with "Good evening", and I guess you can't change the greeting, can you Kafetzou? | | | 13 December 2008 18:20 | | | Oh - right - that's true. I was thinking of the other Turkish one: "İyi geceler - kovalsın (or worse) seni cüceler." - Good night, and may dwarves chase you (or worse). | | | 13 December 2008 18:28 | | | When translating it literally, there is no rhyme. So "sleep tight, don´t let the bedbugs bite" is still my favourite. | | | 13 December 2008 18:50 | | | well, since I was the one who asked for the translation from turkish, I guess you don´t have to add it to my requested translations :-) Thanks to everyone for all the help. This site ( and its people) has really helped me a lot lately ;-) If I can help with anything please don´t hesitate to ask.. hope you had a nice turkish holiday the last 4-5 days and best wishes for the upcomming christmas in the states and in Brazil :-) Luna |
