It is not important to look for messages in the books, but to read them with an open mind, says Nodelman. If you read with an open mind, you will ultimately find the message. And in "Anne på Grönkulla" the message is to believe in yourself and doing things in your own way.
We are going to talk with the children about how they would feel if they were in Anne's situation. We do this in order to reinforce the message of the book, and that one may get used to express ones needs, thoughts and feelings.
