There seems to be a slight problem with the first part of your text and the word "could" is inappropriate here.
It should either read:
"May the Church have the law and the divine office and ability of announcing a false judgment, so that nobody might be misled by philosophy or fatal deception"
or
"The Church ha s got the law and the divine office and ability of announcing a false judgment, so that nobody could be misled by philosophy or fatal deception"
