I would put "vreemd" or "raar" instead of "speciaal" to match the original.

I intentionally put "vreemd", but since we're talking about somebody who has the heart on the right place and "vreemd","raar" is a bit peorative, I decided to go for the neutral "speciaal".

Ik vind "speciaal" ook niet goed. Als je vanuit het kroatisch kijkt. Ik zou zeggen vreemd of raar.

Met al die opmerkingen over 'speciaal' heb ik voor Sofia's oplossing gekozen omdat die
a) vanuit het Kroatisch werkt en
b) 'apart' hier volgens mij het best binnen de context past.

Als je het er toch niet mee eens bent hoor ik het graag!
