My suggestion:
Animals are slaughtered as an act of worship

Yes, I was wondering if 'cutting' meant 'slaughtering' here. Are you ok with Mesud's suggestion, merdogan?

Yes ofcause it can be. They have same meaning. But, for me "slaughtering" has more negative meaning.

Slaughtering of people has a negative meaning. Not of animals. Cutting doesn't have the same meaning - it would rather mean to cut into pieces. I have edited and accepted
