'mertebe' rhymes with 'merkebe'. That's why I chose the rhyming words 'noble / ignoble'. If it has to be literal, it goes like:

If you walk with the good, you establish a position; if you walk with the bad, you turn out to be a donkey

Any suggestions would be appreciated about rhyming words.
