I don't feel too well |

Son Gönderilen | | | | | 6 Kasım 2009 20:33 | | | Hi Bamsa,
"too well" sounds weird, isn't it "very well"? | | | 6 Kasım 2009 21:25 | | | Hi lilian
I found "too well" in the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, so I guess it must be ok. | | | 7 Kasım 2009 01:08 | | | If we had more context it would be easier to decide. It is not a matter of dictionaries. Expressions and word combinations depend on the context. I know you can find the expression that way, however the use of "too" before an adjective usually has a negative connotation and it is not common in negative sentences.
"I don't feel very well" and "I feel too bad" are the most usual expressions.
"Too well" would fit in a sentence like:
"I'm too well today to get upset because of that"
Well that's my opinion, but I may be wrong.
Let's ask for some help since some expressions become widespread and end up conventionally accepted

Thanks Laura. |
