Don't they use that proverb when talking about which sorts of people fall in love with eachother?

The saying I can remember is "Birds of a feather flock together" meaning that similar people spend time together. Does that convey?

to me the english means people who are SIMILAR tend to get along, come together.
the dutch is more about destiny, saying people/things who/which are MEANT to be together, eventually will
