Hello iamfromaustria and lilian, how about using "stare at" instead of "keep looking at"?
I think it is nearer to the meaning of "guardare".

But "stare" sounds a bit like a stalker or a crazy person who can't take his eyes off a woman, he doesn't even know. I think it should be more neutral (but that's only my point of view).
