Ich glaube nicht, dass das wirklich die Bedeutung ist, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher. Buchstäblich, es heißt "Wir haben die Arbeit der Welt gemacht," aber ich weiß schon, das der Spruch idiomatisch ist, ich weiß bloß nicht genau, was es heißt.
