Source language: English

I'm an animal
I'm a victim
I'm the answer to your prayers
I'm a witness,
On a witch hunt
I'm the monster up the stairs
I'm the ghost that's
In the mirror
I'm everything that you fear
I'm the rip tide
I'm the soul-shock
I'm the voice that's in your ear
Remarks about the translation

Animal sum
Victima sum
Responsum ad preces tuas sum
Arbiter sum,

Animae ictus sum
Vox in auribus tuis sum

Efee, how would you improve the translation?

Two points:
- "umbra sum id est in speculo" ---> "quae est in speculo" ("that" is a relative pronoun)
- I don't understand that "anima - nervorum ictus"...

Yes, you're right, Efee! I firstly read "that's" as "it means" --> "id est"(i.e.), but your interpretation is more possible here.

Yes, I had a problem with translating the "soul-shock"... How do you understand it, Efee?

"shock" in Latin is just "ictus,-us" or "nervorum ictus" and I connected it with "soul" (anima), but maybe it was concerned with the "soul-music"... Hm...

Hello Lilly! Could you tell me what you understand by the line "I'm the soul-shock", please?

I think you could translate just "animae ictus" or "nervorum ictus", otherwise it could be ambigous.

Maybe this would be better?

"Ego ictus in anima/pro anima sum".
