Please, pirulito and Lupellus,

Could you tell us what is wrong in this translation?

It's just totally wrong!

munitio –onis = fortification, defence-work, line of defence, rampart

maior natu = older

Too many mistakes.

"Munitione", as already stated, has nothing to do with "power", and is ablative, can't be the object of the verb.

"Praeservare" ('to comply with') is in the infinitive (sometimes it also works as imperative). As translated, the source should bring "praeservat".

"Maiorum" is genitive plural... and so on.

Hi Taíno,
I'm sorry to reject this translation, but its meaning seems to be wrong according to the other members.
You may have another try, OK?

No problem at all, Lilly. It just seems as way-to-easy to pick appart something without offering an alternative. It is easy to look up literal meaning and/or grammar structure in a dictionary/book ---I did as well--- but to put a translation in linguistical context with the intention of the speaker does not necessarily follow strict rules, especially when it comes to short phrases and sayings in the all so flexible and meta-morphic Latin...

I am not dissapointed at all, though, I will keep on offering my translations, as the objective is not to compete, but to help...

Cheers!!

Taíno

P.S.: I do stand by my translation...
