From Maribel's bridge:
Trying to bridge:
Al, these dough knots are very delicious.
-"nyytti" is like a handkerchief tied to a knot (normally something is hidden inside it)... you could think about a croissant with filling put in before baking or a cappelletti (filled pasta, also tortellini, gnocchi and ravioli have the same idea) or a cream puff perhaps
-"maan mainioin" (in superlative) would literally be "the best in the country" - "maan mainio" (in basic form) is just a nice way of saying "very good" (we like to use some strengthening word with the adjectives and tend to invent one with the same letters at the beginning - sounds good to our ear )
Thanks Maribel!
I don't think portuguese has the same way of playing with adjectives but if anyone knows a better way to convey the meaning go ahead!
