I would suggest changing "verbum" into "fidem" here. I know "fides" literally means "faith", "trust", "belief", but we usually use the word in verb constructions such as:

fidem dare - to give one's word
fidem fallere - to break one's word
fidem praestare - to keep one's word, etc.
