We don't use "luxurious" to describe people. Can you tell me more about the meaning?

"extravagant" perhaps?

Without context it is again difficult to know if their taste is not extravagant or if they just are poor. Might even be an opinion of the writer telling the people are not very good people, but that's purely guessing. Extravagant is ok with me
