(Seni ve aileni "etkilemek" iyi oldu.)
şeklinde olmalıydı. | | | 16 July 2009 23:59 | | | "catch up with", "yetişmek, yakalamak, aynı seviyeye gelmek" anlamına gelir ama. "etkilemek" anlamında kullanıldığını hiç görmedim Merdogan. | | | 17 July 2009 00:10
Sevgili handyy,
Lütfen (http://www.seslisozluk.com)
adresine bakar mısın?
Aile içinde "yetişmenin" ne olduğunu anlayamadığımdan bu öneride bulundum. | | | 17 July 2009 14:15 | | | Laura, could you check the accuracy of this translation please? I have never heard, but can "to catch up with" mean "etkilemek" as Merdogan has claimed? CC: kafetzou | | | 17 July 2009 19:30 | | | In North American English, "to catch up with someone" means to find out how they are and what they've been doing, especially if you haven't communicated with or seen them for a long time. I don't know if there's a Turkish expression for that. | | | 18 July 2009 22:12 | | | Well, actually I can't find a suitable word in Turkish, either. But maybe "arayı kapatmak". (I'm not sure though.)
arayı açmak/soğutmak -- uzun zaman birbirini görmemek/görüşmemek (for a friendship)
arayı kapa(t)mak -- görüşmediğin süreyi telafi etmek/o süre zarfı ile ilgili bilgi almak, vs. (for a friendship)
What do you think? | | | 18 July 2009 22:14 | | | ..or better to get another Turkish expert's ideas.
Hazal, could you help me here? What could be the correct verb? CC: 44hazal44 | | | 18 July 2009 22:25 | | | Well, I'm a bit confused too but I think 'arayı kapatmak' is the best solution. | | | 18 July 2009 22:50 | | | Done!
Thank you all for your help! | | | 20 July 2009 06:24
