| | In North American English, "to catch up with someone" means to find out how they are and what they've been doing, especially if you haven't communicated with or seen them for a long time. I don't know if there's a Turkish expression for that. |

| | Well, actually I can't find a suitable word in Turkish, either. But maybe "arayı kapatmak".  (I'm not sure though.)
arayı açmak/soğutmak -- uzun zaman birbirini görmemek/görüşmemek (for a friendship)
arayı kapa(t)mak -- görüşmediğin süreyi telafi etmek/o süre zarfı ile ilgili bilgi almak, vs. (for a friendship)
